Episode Review:

Ok so I used to have Episode a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. That's why I decided to get it again now. I'll be honest I'm a little disappointed. There are now gems that prevent you from picking all the nice choices. I wouldn't have a problem with this if there was a way for you to get them like watch some ads or something. However you only get ONE gem after every chapter and it's so annoying because there are soo many gem choices in each chapter! Plus these choices are like 19+ gems and by the time I got enough for just one of these choices I would have finished the entire story and be well into another one. I just think it's a bit poor only giving someone one gem at the end of every chapter but then add in so many gem choices that you can never afford. It's a bit pointless.
If you changed this game and added in some other way to get gems or gave you like 10 gems at the end of an episode I would appreciate it a lot and the game would be practically perfect.
Other than all this it's a good game but sometimes I don't think it's appropriate for a twelve year old (coming from a 14 year old at least) as the age rating is so low.
Please please please give us more gems!!

I love episode - it's really good and should be downloaded, however there are a few things that should be told before downloading. No.1: Some choices use gems (Gems are a type of episode money used in the app as well as passes, which you need to read an episode.)You do miss out on some things because of having to choose the bad choice when not having the right amount of gems needed. Although this is really annoying, it doesn't happen with all the stories: stories created by users who play the game do not have gem choices, so I would recommend them if you don't like the gem choices. No.2: I think episode would get more readers if you could publish on the app. This is because, on the website, it involves a lot of coding and it is very confusing! This is an opinion and doesn't NEED to be done, but I think episode would benefit from this change. No. 3: Although the passes are annoying sometimes, I can live with them. But maybe episode could start new readers off with a few more passes than 2, this way people could just binge read stories while also boosting episodes popularity.
Other than these things, episode is literally the best app ever and I really love it! Other apps might get repetitive or finish easily/really quickly, but with episode there's also something new to explore! Those three things I had to think of for quite a long time before writing down, and that is purely because episode is great and has hardly any flaws.

Getting worse not better

I have been a long term user of episode (several years). Some update have been good such as the graphics which have improved amazingly! Some have been more questionable or made towards more money making aspects such as diamonds. These are used in episodes for some choices (usually the better one you'd like to choose) these are bought or earned sometimes buy reading episodes. Up until recently this was mainly in just episode made stories however I have heard that they are encouraging all user made stories to include these. Meaning not only you will need to pay for passes (you do get a certain amount per day but it is not enough for an avid reader like me) but also diamonds now to follow a story and make the choices you really want to. I understand passes and adverts and why their essential to get the app money. I use this app quite a lot so I would buy the £9.99 unlimited passes for a month as this was the best deal for the amount I read and got rid of adverts!!! However they have recently got rid of this which has lead me to leave this review. I don't believe it's worth me buying passes as for £9.99 I get 37 which is still a lot however I would often read 10+ chapters a day. I would be spending WAY too much money now and the adverts are not gone. Please consider reversing this decision, I will be using my passes up to finish my current reads then I won't buy anymore passes meaning I am unlikely to use this app often anymore
